Man Killed Outside Anti-Violence Concert

Argument leads to fatality at “Peace Awareness Benefit Concert.”

This headline might make you think you’ve got a funny joke to make. You don’t. This news is stupid and tragic: A 20-year-old man is dead this morning after being shot outside the “Peace Awareness Benefit Concert” Wednesday night at The Dell Music Center.

NBC10 reports:

A witness told police the 20-year-old victim got into an argument with an unidentified man in the parking lot outside the Dell Music Center on Ridge Avenue and Huntingdon Drive while they were both walking towards the venue around 8:30 p.m. The unidentified man then pulled out a gun and opened fire, striking the victim.

Police say the gunman then fled the scene in a white Chevy Impala.

The argument was, apparently, over a woman. Roughly 600 people were attending the concert, which was intended to "bring a positive message about working together to break down barriers that promote violence."
