Amazon Same-Day Delivery Is Now In Philly

More than a million eligible items.

It’s 10 a.m., and you just absolutely need a brand new XBox 360 immediately but you have no time to shop. What do you do? Well, if you live in Philadelphia, you can now get Amazon same-day delivery for it and more than a million other eligible items.

Amazon officially launched same-day delivery in Philadelphia on Wednesday morning. If you order by noon, you’ll have your items the same day.

Same-day delivery also expanded into New York, Indianapolis, Baltimore, Dallas and Washington D.C. on Wednesday. The service was already available in Los Angeles, Phoenix, San Francisco and Seattle.

Some Amazon members in the Philadelphia region report that they’ve been able to do same-day shipping for certain items for a while, but the program hasn’t been fully implemented until now.

If you’re an Amazon Prime member, you pay $5.99 for as many items as you want to order for same-day shipping. If you’re not an Amazon Prime customer, you pay $9.98 for the first same-day item and 99 cents for each remaining same-day item.

“Imagine how much time you will save now that you can get sunscreen, memory cards, toothpaste, hit movies, text books and HDMI cables all delivered to your home in hours, seven days a week, in one order from Amazon,” Amazon Prime Vice President Greg Greeley said in a statement.

When you search for a product on Amazon, you’ll now see a “Get It Today” filter on your screen. Click on that, and Amazon will only display items eligible for same-day delivery, everything from refrigerator filters to glue to diapers.

All of this brings Amazon one step closer to total world domination.
