South Jersey School Bus Drivers Arrested for Child Pornography

They were caught in Operation Predator Alert II.

On Thursday, the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office announced the arrest of 14 men on child pornography charges, as part of Operation Predator Alert II. Those arrested included two South Jersey school bus drivers, Andrew Schreiner and Armando Nortez.

The 14 men were arrested between February 10th and July 22nd, and all of them are being charged under the state’s new child pornography law, which went into effect last year.

Under that law, anyone convicted of distributing 25 or more computer files of child pornography would automatically get five years in state prison without the possibility of parole. A good case for mandatory minimums if ever there was one. Punishment for possession increased as well.

Both Schreiner and Nortez were charged with possession, while Nortez was also hit with a distribution charge.
