Mayfair Tire Slasher Gets … Probation

It took two years to arrive at that decision.

Though he was facing up to 15 years in prison, Mayfair tire slasher David Toledo was sentenced on Monday to up to two years probation, a punishment that we’re sure will have tire slashers throughout the city rethinking their line of work.

Toledo was arrested back in April 2012 for a series of tire slashings that quite literally terrorized the Mayfair section of Philadelphia. He was charged with 60 counts of criminal mischief and other offenses, and a jury found him guilty of just 15 of those counts earlier this year.

Judge Edward Wright has also ordered the 44-year-old man to pay fines, court costs and $774 in restitution to his victims.
