Pedestrian Struck on Overpass Has Died

27-year-old man has not been identified.

Philly.com reports that the pedestrian struck and thrown Tuesday from the Walnut Street overpass has died. “The 27-year-old man was pronounced dead at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania just after 10 p.m. Tuesday, Philadelphia police said this morning. … The deceased man’s name was not immediately released.” The Inquirer reported, however, that the man was a Wharton student.

The accident happened around 10 am Tuesday; two cars collided on the overpass — one spun out of control, hit a light pole and a wall, and sent the man over the side the bridge to the ground 38 feet below.
