Another Fox 29 Reporter Has Made a Ridiculous Tweet

Thought Joyce Evans' tweet was bad last October? See who's tweetin' bad at Fox 29 now!

Last October, Fox 29’s Joyce Evans wrote a hilariously insensitive tweet promoting that night’s news. “Thought ‘Breaking Bad’ was hot last Sunday?” she wrote “See who’s breakin’ bad in SW Philly leavin’ 6 people SHOT – Tonite at Ten!” Everyone from ordinary schlubs on Twitter to Patton Oswalt made fun of her. The tweet, amazingly, was retweeted about 5,400 times, but I guess nothing came of it.

So since that worked out so well for Evans — internet scorn could lead to ratings, I suppose! — Steve Keeley has now gotten in on the game.

When we last saw Keeley, this was happening to him.

So we could give him the benefit of the doubt and say his tweet was brought on by lingering post-concussion symptoms, but I don’t know. This seems like a calculated impression of the Joyce Evans tweet. And it’s not the same! Not only is it insensitive, it’s not as good as the insensitive tweet Fox 29 did six months ago! Geeze.

The actual story, as CBS 3’s Jenn Bernstein managed to report without any stupid tweets (I checked): A 19-year-old was shot nine times at the Citgo gas station at 21st and Passyunk Avenue. He was rushed to the Hospital at the University of Pennsylvania; police believe at least 14 shots were fired during a shootout. The teen was last reported in critical condition.
