    Thats a lot of money for what could be a last place team. They stayed too long with the core and traded their barebones prospects to try and win now. . I guess you have to admire the Phillies organization for their loyalty in giving players big extensions, but it didnt get results. The NFL has it good, comparatively. I think they get a better product on the field with that system. You can build a winner a lot faster if you can cut your old players and not get hit with their contracts. More flexibility to change.
