Vegas: Villanova Tied for 11th Best Odds of Going All the Way

St. Joe's (300-1) and Delaware (so slim, they're not even listed) are much bigger underdogs.

The Wynn Race and Sports book in Las Vegas has released the betting lines for the first two rounds of the NCAA basketball tournament.

On Thursday, in the second round of the East Regional in New York, Villanova is a 17-point favorite to beat the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. If the Wildcats win, they could play the Hawks of St. Joe’s in a championship version of the Holy War. However, St. Joe’s is a four-point underdog against the University of Connecticut.

The Villanova line is the second biggest spread in the tournament, surpassed only by Arizona. The oddsmakers have deemed the western Wildcats a 20.5 points favorite.

The University of Delaware also plays in East Regional on Thursday against Michigan State, where the Blue Hens are 14-point underdogs.

As for  odds to win the whole thing, Florida is the favorite at 4-1, followed closely by Michigan State at 9-2. Villanova is tied for 11th among the teams at 25-1. Saint Joe’s is 300-1. There are no odds given on Delaware, but Harvard is 1,000-1.
