Redfin Names Philly’s Hottest Neighborhoods of 2014

Wayne leads the list.

Real estate website Redfin has named its hottest neighborhoods of Philadelphia for 2014, based on searches of its website and knowledge from its real estate agents:

Neighborhood                Median Sale Price

Wayne                                  $510,000

Elkins Park                          $219,450

East Passyunk Crossing    $222,450

Newbold                               $155,750

Haverford                             $285,800

Redfin's Blakey Minton writes: "A big reason Wayne has become so popular is that it is home to the desirable Radnor School District while offering a wider variety of home sizes and types at more affordable prices than other top-rated Main Line schools. Residents can hop on a quick train to City Center or quickly drive to attractions like the historic Valley Forge National Park, King of Prussia Mall, and Aronimink Country Club."

when did Wayne become part of Philly?

    • ConnieD

….or Newbold….or Haverford. Philly mag does this ALL the time and it drives me crazy!

  • Sean Ali

    Newbold is in South Philly

    • Adam Lang

Yeah it is on the other side of Broad from east passyunk.

John Longacre has done a lot of great stuff to help move that neighborhood along.

Haverford and Wayne are not Philly…..stupid Redfin.

  • The beautiful south

The hottest philly neighborhood is south philly, because:
    1. It’s not centre city, so not yet overpriced
    2. It’s right next to centre city
    3. East passyunk
    4. It’s south philly
    5. Effective crime reduction strategy
    6. Italian market
    7. It’s south philly, the cities heart and soul

Thank goodness our Philadelphia neighborhood missed the list. Maybe if the school system was worth the cost there would be more neighborhoods which are inside Philadelphia on the list
