Thanks to the freezing rain falling on the Philadelphia area on Sunday morning, many roads and sidewalks have become ice covered and are expected to remain that way until Sunday afternoon, when temperatures will climb into the low 40s.
And since many roads were already still pretty miserable three days after Winter Storm Hercules blew through Philadelphia, the moral of the story is: stay home.
The Philadelphia Streets Department describes conditions as "extremely hazardous":
Freezing rain causing extremely hazardous conditions on steps, sidewalks and streets. Crews continue to treat roads. #DriveCarePhilly
