NBC 10 reports: “The 60-inch main broke around 9 a.m. at Frankford and Torresdale Avenues in the Juniata section of Philadelphia sending water bubbling up from the ground and leaving what looked like a couple feet worth of water.”

CBS Philly adds:

Meanwhile, crews from the Philadelphia Water Department are shutting off feeder mains from as far as a mile away to try and stem the flow of thousands of gallons of water leaking from a large, 60-inch transmission main that ruptured near Frankford Avenue and Torresdale Avenue.

Widespread service disruptions are reported and streets in the neighborhood of the break are not passable.

SEPTA bus routes 5 and 56 are being detoured around the break.

CBS 3 is told 41 children from Nana’s Daycare were evacuated and taken to another Nana’s Daycare on the 4300 block of H Street, however that’s being evacuated due to the water main break.
