Someone Was Injured in a SEPTA Accident in Old City

Westbound, Market St. Line.

Update: The victim was a 59-year-old woman, thought it’s now unclear if she was hit by the train or was passed over by it. Either way, she was found under the first train of the car after the train operator saw her.

Original: Details are scant, but it appears someone got hit by a westbound-moving SEPTA train at the 5th and Market St. station just before 11 a.m. today. The pedestrian was hospitalized after being removed from the track. It’s not yet clear how he/she got there. SEPTA service was delayed for a bit, but has since been restored .
