There Will Be No SEPTA Trolley Service in Center City This Sunday

You’re gonna have to take the El.

Public service announcement:

The transit agency says that a routine maintenance project will close the trolley tunnel in Center City from 5 a.m. Sunday through 5 a.m. Monday. Service on trolley routes 11, 13, 34 and 36 will begin and end at 40th and Market streets. Route 10 service will begin and end at 40th and Filbert streets. SEPTA says riders should use the Market-Frankford subway line for travel to and from Center City.

I guess this is how SEPTA celebrates getting $340 million in new funding. [Philly.com]

By maintaining the system? I would hope so.

They do track work all the time and the weekends are the only time to do it an d not totally stop up the system since people can take the subway (except 22 and 19 street stops). I’m glad they maintain the public transportation. Stop being a jerk and be a real journalist. Or try actually riding a trolley some time.

@Simon- Feel free to move down to DC and try to commute via Metro’s Red Line.

I doubt that you would be complaining much about SEPTA’s constant maintenance program after.
