Knockout Game?: SEPTA Police Have Person of Interest In Broad Street Puncher Case

They found him on Broad Street.

SEPTA spokesperson Gerri Williams tells me that SEPTA police are interviewing “a person of interest” regarding the recent attack on a female Temple med student at the Erie station on the Broad Street Line, allegedly committed by the same person who attacked a woman at Broad and Arch streets on Monday. That woman snapped the above photo of her assailant immediately after he punched her.

“We believe based on the photo that you have made available online that this is the same person,” says Williams. “We had officers and detectives out looking, and they found somebody fitting the description sitting at Broad and Ontario on street level around 1 p.m.”

As for whether this is an example of the Knockout Game in Philadelphia, Williams says she thinks not. “We don’t believe this was a situation of somebody playing the Knockout Game,” she says. “The person we’re questioning appears to have some mental issues.” Because clearly the people who are playing the Knockout Game don’t have mental issues, right?

Williams would not release the name or age of the person being questioned.

Nothing mental about it. It’s a criminal issue, plain and simple. If anything, it’s a moral issue.

    • cbunnirun

the person in question in this incident is a young man with a mental disability, though the players of the game are morally disabled

      • rechill

        Which “disability” does he have?

Well if that’s ‘really’ the case, which I doubt, tell his LCSW she’s sleeping on her job and needs to have her ‘charges’ on much more stout a leash, in this moron’s case, it should be an RF tracking ankle bracelet in a jail cell.

Id love for one of these assholes to take a swing at me. I would be glad to show them my glock.

They dont have mental issues. They are just thugs who like to punch white people, specially women for the fun of it.

    • Kareem OfWheat

With the black average IQ at 85, THEY all HAVE ISSUES.

  • bob

imagine if this were a bunch of white kids going around an punching out black people? wouldn’t sharpton and every other so called black leader be up in arms????? such a double standard!

  • jtomanelli

It seems to be a racist hate crime. Perhaps 15 years in Jail will allow this dirt bag understand that it is not fun, its not cool, and it only proves what a coward you are.

Pity she did not have a gun in her purse along with a camera and had blown this afticoon’s f-n brains out. 3 or 4 slugs into his skull and upper body.

  • Carlos Ferreira

hang him, in public, i want front row tickets for the idea.

  • Baseballguy2001

But he has “mental issues”, he needs to be, I think a guest on TV said — “empowered”. We don’t have many of these situations in Texas, one doesn’t know who is armed and who isn’t.

This is some of the dumbest fake reporting I have EVER seen. Nothing above is verified. NOTHING. They just included a random shot of a black kid walking down the street and said he is the perp. So this mysterious second victim snapped a picture of her attacker from the front AFTER the punch? And he was still moving in her direction? That literally makes no sense at all. The picture above looks like a random person walking down the street when his photo was taken.
