Hall & Oates Don’t Need Your Hall of Fame

But let's vote them in anyway, OK?

In a new video interview, Hall & Oates seem pretty non-plussed by the idea of entering the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

SomethingElseReviews.com quotes the duo:

After years of fan complaints, Hall and Oates have belatedly made the list of nominees for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Not that the duo has ever attached too much significance to the recognition.

“It’s really cool,” John Oates says in this Fuse clip. “It’s a good feeling when people think we deserve it. But most people think we’re already in it so, really, what does it matter?”

Hall and Oates join a Class of 2014 first-time nominees that also includes Yes, Nirvana, Peter Gabriel, Linda Ronstadt, Kiss, the Replacements and the Zombies, among others. Good news for Hall and Oates fans: The public gets to vote, along with regular music industry insiders, for a second consecutive year.

Well, it matters to us. Go vote. The Philly duo is in sixth place, still: The top 5 will get a formal “fan vote” in the Hall of Fame balloting.
