Justin Timberlake Mocks Philly Sports Fans, Kind Of

Lame insult not even worth discussing, but here it is.

After the Eagles clinched their second straight win on Sunday night, The Social Network star Justin Timberlake (because really, he should rest his laurels more and more upon that role and less on everything else he’s ever done) made a flaccid insult at the crowd, according to a 94WIP reporter:

“Philly, your Eagles won today, congrats,” [the reporter says] Timberlake said in between songs. “You’re also the only city who hates their own sports teams.” Timberlake was then given the middle finger by a fan in the second row.

If this is true, it’s an insult of ambiguous meaning and importance and purpose. It seems like an insult that can only be said with the inflection of a slightly wounded, cowering kid who has himself just been insulted, as though the crowd responded with a collective “Stupid comeback, Justin.” And yet here we are, talking about it, wondering about it. I’m just doing my job.[CBS3]
