College Reporter Actually Plagiarized Philly.com

A new low for the journalistic profession.

Philly.com, which has lately been ripping off the Inquirer‘s own writers, was apparently the victim of plagiarism in its own right.

A college reporter for Colorado Mesa University was relieved of her duties after she was caught lifting the work of 22 different publications.

“So far, The Criterion’s editorial staff has determined that the former Online Editor plagiarized content from Alternet, The Associated Press, Backlash.com, The Chicago Reader, CollegeNews.com, E! Online, Jezebel.com, The National Post, The New York Daily News,The New York Post, the web portal Philly.com, Scene-Stealers.com, Slate, The St. Paul Pioneer Press, Time Magazine, The Wall Street Journal and the Washington Post,” the post says.

Interstate General Media, which could use a PR lift, should blast this news out ASAP. Being plagiarized is high praise! [Poynter]

In my day, we at least plagiarized people who knew how to write.
