Charticle: The Best Sports Bars For Out Of Town Philly Fans

Here’s where to cheer on the birds if you’ve flown the nest.

Nothing is lonelier than being out of town on game day. But giving new meaning to the phrase “Fly, Eagles, fly,” devoted Philly fans have opened sports bars far and wide, meaning that pretty much wherever your travels take you, you can now do what we do best: cheer (lustily), boo (more lustily), drink (even more lustily), and suffer.

Be respectful of our online community and contribute to an engaging conversation. We reserve the right to ban impersonators and remove comments that contain personal attacks, threats, or profanity, or are flat-out offensive. By posting here, you are permitting Philadelphia magazine and Metro Corp. to edit and republish your comment in all media.

Jake’s Steaks in San Francisco was where I watched the Eagles when I lived there. It was also where I hid when the Giants won the world series (It was awful).

Someone has already done all the work for you! You can download The Green Legion’s smartphone app called The Legion Locator and it has every Philly bar around the country, directions to them wherever you are standing, and some even offer specials if you show them the app. Approximately 175 out of area Philly bars are on it.

Philly’s Best in Irvine, CA is the absolute best, complete with cheesesteaks on Amoroso’s rolls, TastyKakes, Wise chips, scrapple, and cheesesteak omelets. Don’t try to come in on game day if you 1. aren’t wearing an Eagles jersey and 2. don’t have a reservation. Seating is VERY limited, but we have a great time!
