Video: Blind Man Beaten In Philadelphia

Naturally, no one stops to help.

The Philadelphia Police Department is searching for the above “man” as a suspect in the October 2nd beating of a 33-year-old blind man in the Southwest Germantown section of the city. Yes, you read that right. He beat up a blind man.

Here’s what police say happened (the “who is blind” emphasis is their own):

On Wednesday October 2, 2013 at 12:06PM the PPD Blue Light Surveillance Camera located on the northeast corner of Wayne and Seymour captured an aggravated assault as it happened.

The victim, who is blind, was walking eastbound on Seymour approaching Wayne Avenue. The suspect exits the corner business moments before the assault and appears to look down and the street as the victim approaches then turns to put down his black back pack.

The camera pans away and in the next frame, the suspect is observed striking the victim, knocking him to the ground. Then the offender proceeds to kick and stomp the victim as he lay helpless on the ground.

Watch (or don’t, if you’d rather not feel hopeless about the future of civilization) as the blind man is beaten and robbed:
