Has the Boyd Theater Found New Life at Last?

New screens, restaurant proposed for the long-empty space on Chestnut Street

Philly.com reports that Florida-based iPic entertainment has proposed renovating the long-empty Boyd Theater on Chestnut Street. “The new iPic Theaters at The Boyd will feature reclining chairs, pillows and blankets, as well as buttons that will allow patrons to summon a waiter to deliver food and cocktails. The theater will also have a Tanzy restaurant. … The auditoriums will seat 40 to 120.” Center City may finally be getting some movies again. The only question: Will the Boyd beat the Roxy back to actually showing flicks?
