WATCH: Pennsbury Grad Matthew Schuler Competes on The Voice

Phillyburbs.com reports:

Pennsbury High School graduate Matthew Schuler put his pipes to the test Monday night on the season premiere of NBC’s “The Voice.”

Schuler performed Young the Giant’s 2011 single “Cough Syrup.” His cover of the rock hit elicited favorable responses from the judges and the celebrity panel members attempted to add Schuler to their teams.

“Well, hot damn,” judge Cee Lo Green said. “I’ve got to say man, like, your voice is beautiful.”

Christina Aguilera and Adam Levine stood on their chairs to applaud Schuler, and Blake Shelton left his judge’s seat to congratulate the contestant and lobby for him to join his team.

Schuler, a 2011 graduate of Pennsbury High School, chose Aguilera to be his coach.
