Finally, An All-Female Secret Society Sorority Is Coming to Penn

Alpha Delta Pi is not your typical Put on your Stilettos and Black Dresses and Book it to a Downtown on a Thursday night kind of sorority. It is, ahem, the world’s oldest secret society for women, at it’s finally coming to Penn. Founded in 1851 at Wesleyan, that bastion of secretive and weird quasi-fraternities, ΑΔΠ “will have fall open houses and will participate in the Panhellenic Recruitment Convocation in January.” So…a toga party? In case you’re looking for a clear explanation of how ΑΔΠ came to campus, Associate Director of the Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life Stacy Kraus has the answer: “The Panhellenic community voted to ‘stack’ sororities in the extension process,” said Kraus. “Zeta Tau Alpha was selected to colonize first and Alpha Delta Pi was selected to colonize second.”
