Super Serious Academic Study Ranks Eagles Fans Very Poorly

As rankings about non-quantifiable things go, this one is pretty good. Mike Lewis & Manish Tripathi, professors at Emory, and fans of the Steelers and Redskins, respectively, set out to rank the best NFL fans in the country. To do so, they calculated which fans spent the most on their teams relative to how good the teams were, how wealthy the area was, how big the stadium was, and other factors. In other words, fans who root hard and spend a lot, no matter how bad the team is, tend to be “the best.” And Eagles fans, it seems, are not the best.
