How the Riley Cooper Video Hit the Internet

Deadspin has the tick-tock on how the infamous Riley Cooper video surfaced onto the series of tubes in the first place:

  • Some guy offered them the tape in exchange for cash.
  • Deadspin proposed the seemingly random amount of $23.17
  • Guy shoots back that LOCAL SPORTS BLOG WOO! Crossing Broad had offered him $100
  • Deadspin does not match offer
  • Crossing Broad posts video, gets Pulitzer many, many page views

Still no word on identity of “some guy.”

“Some guy” ruined a career [and life] in the pursuit of money. What was your motive? Do you feel remorse over what you did? I’m not excusing what Cooper did, but I want to know more about the motives of the video taker.
