Gun Lobby Melts Pat Toomey’s Face in New Ad

The National Association for Gun Rights has its sights set on pinko commie arch-conservative Pat Toomey, releasing the first ad yet that has criticized the state’s junior senator for his ill-fated gun control bill.

The ad somehow manages to tie Toomey’s plan to the IRS scandal, Edward Snowden and Benghazi, before climaxing at the 50-second mark, when it melts his face and transforms him into–gasp!–Arlen Specter. Politics PA notes that the “inexpensive” “in-house” ad will run only on cable. Presumably really late at night, in between showings of BASEketball and Next Friday.

Gun rights advocates are not angry at Toomey for his position on background checks. We are extremely angry because the text of S.AMDT.715 to S.649,, the so called “Manchin Toomey Background Check Amendment” begins with “SA 711. Mrs. FEINSTEIN (for herself, Mr. SCHUMER, Mr. DURBIN, Mr. WHITEHOUSE, Ms. KLOBUCHAR, Mr. FRANKEN, Mr. BLUMENTHAL” and continues with “TITLE IV–ASSAULT WEAPONS BAN.”

Now, don’t take my word for the time of day. Type in “Library of Congress S.Amdt.715.” The first link should be the LOC. When you get the bill summary click on ” S2613-2618″ for the bill’s index. At the index click on “printer friendly display.’ for the full text. Just as it was handed to the Secretary of the Senate to be voted on.

And yes, we are extremely angry at Toomey. And, as former Vice President Hubert Horatio Humphrey observed: “Gun owners never forget and seldom forgive.”

Hmmm, I dunno – could be a crafty in-house, reverse-psych effort to persuade non-Toomites (also known as Democrats & Independents) to remember how he introduced legislation to advance gun control and thereby, to vote for him because of it, especially with the Arlen reference.
