Michael Nutter Penalized After Forgetting to Pay His Gas Bill

Mayors, they’re just like (some of) us.

Mayor Michale Nutter’s Office confirmed that a lien was placed on Nutter’s Wynnefield home by the Common Pleas Court last month because he didn’t pay his gas bill. The lien was initiated by Philadelphia Gas Works (PGW). According to a court filing on May 18, Nutter owed $507.76.

He has since paid up. Nutter, who has been criticized for allowing the city’s tax delinquency problem to fester, will now be subject to a healthy round of chortling. [NBC 10]
