Inquirer: Woman Trapped Under Rubble For 13 Hours Lost Both Legs

Inquirer Exclusive: Woman who survived amid rubble of building collapse for 13 hours lost both leg at the pelvis, lawyer says.

That’s all we have right now on 61-year-old Myra Plekan, who was the last to be rescued on June 5th. According to a piece in the Sunday Inquirer, Plekan’s strong personality shone through even after a half day buried underneath the ruins of a building. After a firefighter called for “Maria” she insisted on correcting him, informing him from under the rubble that it was spelled “M-Y-R-A.”
