Several folks at CBS tell me that former Miss Pennsylvania Nicole Brewer and Carol Erickson are actually good friends and that this is all part of the ongoing on-air banter between the two. Claims of their chumminess are backed up by Tweets like these:

What say you? Is this whole rivalry a product of our imaginations? And if it is, how gross are we?
