West Kensington Parents Murdered In Front Of Child

In a city where the violence is so constant that it can seem like annoying background noise, some crimes stand out. So it is with Tuesday night’s murder of a West Kensington couple in front of their 11-year-old son. CBS Philly reports: “Police say the woman driver was shot multiple times as she exited her car. The unidentified man was shot while still in the passenger seat. The couple’s 11-year-old son was in the back seat. He escaped unharmed.”

NBC 10 says the child was actually under the age of 10: “Anyone anywhere near that car — especially the young child who was in the car — was very, very lucky to survive the gunshots,” Chief Inspector Scott Small told the station.

Philly.com adds: “The couple was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The shots appear to have been fired at close range; casings were found within feet of the victims’ bodies. Police had no information about potential suspects or a motive in the killings.”
