In Russia, Teen Complains About Adoptive Montgomery County Parents

What a bizarre story. A Russian teen is popping up on TV in that country, complaining that the Montgomery County couple who adopted him to America years ago was cruel to him and … forced him to live in a drainage pipe? Really. The Inquirer reports: “Russian television cast the story as an example of the alleged misfortunes that befall Russian children adopted by U.S. parents. In December, Russia banned American adoptions of Russian children in retaliation for a U.S. law targeting alleged Russian human-rights violators.” Back in America, the teen’s adoptive brother—Sam Salotti—and neighbors said that the Russian teen did sleep in the drainage pipe after a falling out with the adoptive parents. The teen at the center of this story, Josh Salotti, returned to Russia in December.
