Moscow Really Excited About Upcoming Boyz II Men Concert; Boyz, Not So Much

Eastern Hemisphere alert: Boyz II Men are coming to Moscow on Feb. 6th, and one Moscow Times reporter seems really excited about it. (Pravda this ain’t. She writes: “President Vladimir Putin’s crusade to raise the country’s birth rate is set to get the support of three powerful voices on its behalf.”) Philly’s favorite sons (though are they really?), don’t seem quite so thrilled.

Asked to say something–anything, please–remotely interesting about their feelings towards Mother Russia, Boyz II Men fail miserably. A sampling:

Q: How will you adapt the show to the Moscow audience?
A: One of the reasons we have so many loyal fans is that we stay true to who we are — we don’t tailor each show to a specific audience.

Q: What do you like about the Russian audience?
A: The Russian audience has shown us a lot of love.

Q: You’ve recorded a song about Philadelphia. Any chance you’ll write a song about Moscow?
A: As far as doing more song writing, you never know what the future holds!
