PHOTOS: Philly’s Last Porn Palace Closed

If you were looking to catch a little XXX entertainment after work, hopefully you weren’t planning on going to The Forum, the seedy adult cinema (is there any other kind?) that I chronicled in “The Last Porn Palace“, an article that appeared in the November 2007 issue of Philadelphia magazine. No word on when it closed or why, but The Forum is — at least currently — not open for business.

According to city real estate records, the building has not been sold. Its owners were cited in October for doing interior structural work without the appropriate permit, says an L&I spokesperson, and an online L&I report indicates that the first floor seating had been removed.

Longtime Forum operator Anthony Trombetta did not immediately return a call seeking comment. I can only imagine that the residents of the Murano condominiums across the street are praying that The Forum has closed for good. [H/T Philebrity / Photos: Marina Lamanna]
