Phillies Had Worst TV Ratings Drop in Major League Baseball

The Phillies have had a disappointing 2012. The offense was anemic to start the season, Howard, Utley, Polanco, Lee, Ruiz, Halladay and Galvis spent time on the shelf, Victorino and Pence were shipped out of town to playoff teams, and then there was the Galvis PED fiasco all while the Nats opened up a massive lead in the NL East. But, in August and September, the team made a push just strong enough to keep things interesting down to the wire. The problem, though, was that no one was watching. According to Nielsen, the Phils’ local viewership was down 38.6 percent this season. That’s good for the biggest drop-off in The Bigs. The Pirates had better ratings in 2012. For shame.
