Urban Outfitters Wants Ecommerce First, Stores Second

Urban Outfitters generates $2.5 billion of revenue annually. Of that $2.5 billion, nearly 25 percent of it comes from online sales. In the coming years, though, Urban Outfitters plans to increase the share of the revenue generated by ecommerce. The company is set to expand its ecommerce team, open a facility to house the newly-expanded ecommerce team, reduce the number of physical store locations, and offer promotions exclusively available online in order to convert in-store into Internet customers.
