Glouco Assemblyman Didn’t Know It Was Illegal to Refuse Breathalyzer Test

Even though he voted for a bill that focused on the consequences of a refusal.

On Tuesday night, a Gloucester County assemblyman was arrested for DUI after he refused to submit to a breathalyzer test. The assemblyman had, prior to his arrest, advocated for multiple bills dealing with drunk driving penalties, including one that addressed the legality of refusing the breath test. He denies the DUI charge and says that he might file a complaint with the township over the officer’s “abuse of power.” It’s also worth noting that the assemblyman was headed to Chick-fil-A because of course he was.
