Comcast Buys Microsoft’s Stake in MSNBC.com for $300 Million

The New York Times reports that Comcast bought out Microsoft’s share of MSNBC.com for $300 million. As of Monday morning, folks looking to peruse the website were immediately redirected to the re-branded NBCNews.com. Microsoft had previously been a partner in the MSNBC cable news channel, but left that partnership back in 2005, before the channel became a destination for left-leaning political analysis. In early 2013, the site will be reborn as MSNBC.com and will function as the Internet appendage of the news channel. [The Wrap]
