Arrest Made After Funeral Workers Find Rope in Elderly Woman’s Throat


On June 10th, authorities responded to a call indicating that a 70-year-old woman had died in a Roxborough group home. The woman appeared to have died of natural causes and the body was transported to John J. Bryers Funeral Home in Willow Grove. The next day, funeral workers discovered up to 10 inches of rope and a candy wrapper had been shoved down the woman’s throat. On Wednesday, 49-year-old Geraldine Cherry was arrested and charged with murder. [Philly.com]
