South Jersey School on Lockdown After Bear Sighting

Thomas Richard Elementary School in Waterford Township, South Jersey has been placed on lockdown after a bear was spotted nearby. The black bear was seen near the Wharton State Forest, about a half-mile away from the elementary school. Clearly, the lockdown was just precautionary, but authorities believe there may be an entire family of bears in the area and want to be particularly safe. [Philly.com]
