Second-Grader Tells SRC He Loves Star Wars, Obi-Wan Kenobi

Also, parents and teachers spoke up against the proposed overhaul to the district's structure.

The School Reform Commission recently announced that its members are considering a drastic overhaul to the way Philadelphia’s public schools are organized and run. Last night, the SRC heard from members of the public on the proposed implosion of the district’s central structure. A Kensington teacher wanted to know why teachers weren’t involved in the creation of the proposal. A parent explained that she’s worried that the changes won’t serve all of the city’s children. A second-grader told them he loves Star Wars and Ob-Wan Kenobi, but not as much as his teacher Miss Collins. [Inquirer]
