Federal Judge, Former Dean of Penn’s School of Law Dead at 89


Louis Pollak—a U.S. district judge and former dean of Penn’s School of Law—died it West Mount Airy this week at the age of 89. Pollak also helped to write an NAACP brief that helped to persuade the United States Supreme Court to rule separate but equal schools for black students unconstitutional in Brown v. Board of Education. He’s survived by his wife, Katherine, and five daughters. [Washington Post]
