HughE Dillon: Kentucky Derby Party at Paramour

Guests (in hats, of course) celebrated the race at the Wayne Hotel restaurant.

The 138th Kentucky Derby was held on Saturday, and Paramour at the Wayne Hotel held its first Kentucky Derby Party. Guests wearing great hats and their Kentucky Derby finest sipped on mint juleps and ate delicious hors d’oeuvres prepared by Chef Michael Giampa. Prizes were given for the best hat in the male and female categories. Here, Paramour proprietors Steve and Kathy Bajus (left) with guests Susan and Rob Gretz.

The one thing you shouldn’t do is show up naked from the forehead up at a Kentucky Derby party. That’s unacceptable. Below: Hearing that, Gordon Wilson, with wife Kathy Wilson, borrowed a hat from a friend and completed his outfit.

Below: Craig Corrao and Kate Coll. Craig tells me he bought this tie to wear to the duo’s wedding-vowel renewal in Las Vegas a few years back. Kate wore this hat as part of her bridesmaid outfit at her sister’s wedding in England. See? Wedding attire can be re-purposed.
