School Might Be Canceled in the Fall. Seriously, without a $94 million infusion from the proposed tax re-assessment, the Philadelphia School District is saying that it won’t be able to open schools in the fall. [Inquirer]

D.A. Slip-Up Lets Cop Off the Hook. A Philadelphia police officer charged with having a woman strip and watch him masturbate during a drug raid in Kensington in 2009 is at least temporarily off the hook because a judge ruled that the District Attorney’s office violated his right to a speedy trial.
