400 Passengers Rescued From SEPTA El Train

A train experienced mechanical problems and became stranded between the Erie/Torresdale and Tioga stations heading west this morning. A rescue train had to pull along side the six-car stranded train so that the 400 passengers could get off the El. The ordeal caused massive delays this morning, but trains were listed as “on schedule” shortly before 10 a.m., though the crowds meant that some trains were still filled to capacity at times shortly thereafter.
