Do People Still Care About Will Smith?

In a word, yes. More accurately—as outlined in a lengthy piece on the state of leading me in Hollywood on Grantland points out—people care enough to always go and see his movies.

Bill Simmons wrote, “If you fund a Will Smith movie, you’re guaranteed a $150 million worldwide gross … minimum. It’s impossible NOT to make money from Will Smith. He’s a sure thing. He’s foolproof.”

Anyway, Vulture posed the question because Smith is set to return to the screen for the first time since ’08 and will do so in a third installment of Men in Black. Regardless of how terrible this movie will be, chances are people will make it out just because they’re jonesin’ to see Smith kill some CGI critters. [Vulture]
