Jan Berenstain, Co-Creator of the Berenstain Bears Dead at 88

Jan Berenstain passed away Friday after suffering a stroke. She was a Philadelphia native and co-creator of The Berenstain Bears children’s books. Berenstain had been working on the franchise, started in 1962, from her studio in Bucks County. She was 88 years old. [Philly.com]
