Decision Delayed on Catholic School Appeals. The Archdiocese of Philadelphia has announced that decisions on the appeals filed on behalf of the high schools recommended for closing by the Blue Ribbon Commission will be postponed until next week. Today, the Archdiocese will still hand down a decision on the area’s elementary schools. [Inquirer]

Flyers Win! Man, does it feel good to type that. The Flyers fell behind the lowly Sabres 2-0 during yesterday’s first period. One 11-Year-Old Dead, Three Others Critically Injured in Yesterday’s Crash. A dump truck and a school bus collided yesterday in Chesterfield, New Jersey. An 11-year-old girl—a triplet—died in the accident and three others—including the girl’s two 11-year-old sisters—remain in critical condition. The triplets’ father is a New Jersey State Police Trooper. No criminal charges have been reported. [6 ABC]

Jersey Assembly Passes Lame Duck Gay Marriage Bill. The New Jersey Assembly voted 42-33 to pass a bill that would legalize gay marriage in the Garden State. Governor Chris Christie has vowed to veto the bill and it doesn’t seem likely that the Democrats in the Assembly or state Senate will be able to secure enough votes for an override. [Inquirer]

Teen Arrested for Murder of Pregnant Woman in South Philly. A 19-year-old is in police custody after he allegedly murdered his 24-year-old girlfriend because he was angry that she was pregnant. The woman was six months along and already had a three-year-old daughter and an eight-year-old son. [NBC Philadelphia]
