St. Joe’s Alumni Association Says Lesbians Don’t Count

The St. Joseph’s University’s Alumni Association is holding a contest for Hawk couples. The premise is that couples send in the story of how they met at school and/or bonded over their love of the university to the SJU Alumni Association Facebook page. The stories that receive the most “likes” by Valentine’s Day get a $100 gift certificate to their favorite restaurant. So, if you and your partner both went to SJU, you should definitely enter this contest—unless, of course, you’re lesbian. Then, you shouldn’t bother because the alumni association won’t post your story because, “the Catholic Church does not recognize same-sex marriage.” Yes, really. [Jezebel]
