Sixers New Ownership Kills Off Hip-Hop

For years, the face of the Sixers was Allen Iverson. But, with a revolving door of role players and fringe stars, the second most recognizable member of the franchise wasn’t even human—it was a bunny on steroids. Hip-hop, the Sixers mascot for the past decade, has officially been killed off by the team’s new ownership. So far, Joshua Harris and company have slashed ticket prices dramatically, opened a discussion with fans to determine the direction of the franchise, and discontinued a mascot that was irritating more than it was motivational. The only they have left to do is help end the lockout, bring in legitimate talent and win some games. [NBC Philadelphia]
