Large portions of Philadelphia don’t need to illuminate the no’s on their vacancy signs. The city has a problem in the form of 40,000 empty lots—space that isn’t being utilized to its full potential. Administration after administration has attempted to battle the issue but none have overcome the blight that Philly faces. Plan Philly, Technically Philly and City Paper have collaborated to dig into the data and build on the issue of vacancy in the city. The Scoop thinks maybe Philly was sent directly to jail without passing go so it couldn’t collect $200 and couldn’t afford to put a hotel at 13th and Bainbridge. [City Paper]
