HughE Dillon: Bradley Cooper, Abbie Cornish, and Jason Statham Film in Philly

Plus the opening of Matthew Interior Designs and a film by Stephen Powers

In between shooting Bradley Cooper, Abbie Cornish, Jason Statham, and other Hollywood celebs as they roamed around Philadelphia, I swung by the special screening of a film about Stephen Powers’ and his Love Letter project. I also stopped by the opening of Matthew Interior Designs.

Celebrity Sightings
Jason Statham transported himself to Philly this week and began filming his new movie Safe on the 100 block of Chestnut Street yesterday. He wrapped up around 7 p.m., then stopped by the Starbucks at 16th and Walnut streets. When the paparazzi saw him at Starbucks and tried to photograph him, Stratham had some not-so-nice things to say. They’re filming on the 100 block of Chestnut Street again today so stop by and check it out. Call time was 8 a.m.

Surprise! Bradley Cooper returns to Philadelphia to do a few re-shoots of his new movie Dark Fields , which filmed here last spring. I hear that yesterday he stopped by Germantown Academy, his alma mater, to say hello to a few of his old teachers.

Last Saturday
The Philadelphia Committee to End Homelessness held the Poker Players with a Heart tournament last weekend. It was a big success — they had almost 200 players. The night ended in a big upset for Erik Seidel. Erik, who will be inducted into the poker hall of fame next month, failed to place in this tournament. David Goldstein, a relative newcomer to professional poker took first place, Zachary Luthe took second place, and Michael Meloney took third. PCEH raised money for their mission to create a safe home for homeless families. Find out more about PCEH at www.pceh.org.

Coming Up
On Monday, November 8, Soledad O’Brien will attend a dinner and silent auction. Find out more information, here.
